                                 Drop-in and Learning Centre

Help us raise £16,000 to buy a drop-in and learning centre in Rwamagana, Rwanda.

Many children live in severe poverty and poor shelter. Some are forced to leave home when their house is damaged by rain or if there is not enough room for the whole family. A drop-in centre would be a secure place for them to stay until safe and secure accommodation is found.

With plenty of rooms, the building will also be used to hold homework clubs and be a place where children can come and study or have extra tuition.

A part of the building will be used as an office and volunteer accommodation for those of you who are interested in visiting Rwanda with Aid for Education.

A huge thank you to the 2nd Port Glasgow Boys Brigade who raised £300 packing bags at Morrisons, Greenock in December. The money will go towards buying the Learning Centre in Rwanda.
And of course, thank you to all the shoppers for their generosity!

Thank you to all who supported our Rwandan Charity Event on 15th October at the Tontine Hotel, Greenock. Our afternoon of crafts, buffet and Rwandan dancing brought in over £1000!! Thank you!

On Saturday 20th August, Gordon and Jenna Tyler swam the 2 mile Clyde swim. Due to a strong current, they swam along the esplanade and back, instead of from Kilcreggan to Greenock. Thanks to all who showed up to support our swimmers.

Thank you also to all who sponsored them. More than £600 was raised. Well done to Gordon and Jenna!

At Christmas, the young people at Argyll Training, Greenock, painted glasses which they sold and raised over
£100.
The glasses were packaged beautifully and sold not only in their own offices, but also in local shops.              Aid for Education would like to thank the young people and the staff for all their hard work.
